Up for bids is a 1980 turbo trans am. Car is running and has a valid
Pennsylvania inspection which expires June '07. The factory paint is
fading... interior needs to be redone. Usual rust - nothing major or unexpected
from a car of this age... Speedometer states 8,124 miles, but assume it's
turned-over... title states exempt.
My father and I dragged her home on my birthday in May 2007. It was an all-day adventure to beautiful Gettysburg, PA. The seller was a used car dealer specializing in very used cars. Believe it or not, the Trans Am was one of the best cars on the lot!
Here she is after eight months of work. Each and every body panel was removed and stripped down to the bare metal - three paint-jobs in total. The interior was completely gutted and all interior panels and upholstery were thrown directly into the garbage.
The bird is back! One year in the making - here she is in all her glory on my birthday in May 2008. The car has been restored back to it's original configuration as delivered to City Motor Company of Valdese, NC on October 23, 1979.
